Did you say surf board? That's right, we're bringing the coast to Arizona! Big Surf isn't named after the waves for no reason!
The idea of surfing in Arizona originated in 1966 by Phil Dexter when he built the first model of the wave pool in his back yard. Three years later he opened Big Surf Waterpark and it became, not only a destination to catch some waves, but also a hit concert venue. Big Surf has seen many musicians including Pink Floyd, Elton John, the Beach Boys and many more!
Catch a wave on a surf board or sign up for lessons and become a pro in no time! Lessons take place in the summer on Saturdays and Sunday and are limited to ten spots.
Not ready to surf but love to boogie board? Well then you're in luck! Boogie board sessions take place in the summer at least once a day where the only people allowed in the pool are those with boogie boards so you can surf the waves worry free! Don't have a boogie board or surf board? You can always rent one!
