Taylor Swift rocked the Internet with her announcement of her next re-recorded album, 1989 (Taylor's Version), from SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California on August 9th of this year. The re-recording of Swift's 5th studio album will be available for streaming on October 27, 2023. If you're a veteran Swiftie, you know that album releases from the A list singer are a cause for celebration, whether you gather with friends or listen solo. October is quickly approaching, so now is the time to prepare for how you're going to spend release day in your apartment home!

Party Like It's 1989

If the Eras Tour taught us anything, it's that Swifties have Style. Why not bring that Eras Tour vibe to your apartment home with a fun themed party? Taylor has graced us with 10 studio albums, each with their own "era", providing us all with endless creative costume ideas! If inviting your guests to dress up as any era is too broad for your liking, have them stay on theme with a strict 1989-era dress code. (After all, we probably all have relics from 2014 - 1989's original release year - stuffed in the back of our closets). You could also switch things up and go with an 80's themed party - it is 1989, after all!

Of course, every good album release party has Taylor Swift themed snacks and decor to match the vibe. Deck out your apartment home in the signature 1989 blue with streamers and balloons and set up a photo station (with Polaroids, OF COURSE). When it comes to feeding your guests, what screams 1989 more than (Welcome to) New York Style Pizza and an ice cold Milk-Shake (it Off)?

Host a Get-Together with Friends

If a full-on party isn't really your vibe but you still want to be surrounded by friends for this historic album release, consider hosting a small, lowkey get-together. Rather than dressing up in full glitz and glam, you could request your friends arrive to your apartment in 1989 blue, or even their pajamas!

While you wait for the (Taylor's Version) album to become available, why not bake Taylor's favorite Chai Sugar Cookie recipe and pour yourself a glass of iced white wine (one of Swift's signature drink choices) with your visitors in your apartment's kitchen?

Go Solo

Maybe listening to music in solitude is more your style. There is nothing wrong with getting cozy and cuddling up on the couch with some headphones while you meet Taylor at midnight on October 27th! This way, you can really take in those new vault tracks.

Of course, if your adrenaline is running high from the excitement, you could always rearrange your apartment's furniture and make room for a dance party for one! (I won't judge you)

No matter how you choose to celebrate the album release that night from your apartment, 1989 (Taylor's Version) is sure to transport us all to the realms of our Wildest Dreams!
